Groomobile has served Tampa Bay since 1958. Over the years, Groomobile has grown from one van in St Petersburg, Florida to many vans serving most of Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties. In an industry that is fraught with instability, how did one grooming company survive, and prosper, for over 50 years? Groomobile grew very slowly at times and very very slowly at other times. During the 50’s and 60’s, Groomobile operated one mobile grooming van. During the 70’s and 80’s there were two to three vans. By the end of the 1990’s Groomobile had grown to eight or nine vans, and had become the premier mobile groomer in Tampa Bay and in Florida.
Sometimes the company’s dominance in the mobile grooming industry overshadows the fact that Groomobile, also, operates one of the finest walk-in salons in this area. This state of the art facility is outfitted with the best equipment, and designed with pets and customers in mind. Our salon is always clean and neat, the cages are large and well lit, the ventilation was engineered to provide extraordinary air circulation and filtration, and customers can see all the major operations from the lobby – without disturbing the pets or the groomers.
